Someone asked me this morning how I keep so positive when dealing with so many "people issues". The answer is simple really ... it's the variety of ways in which we get to support our customers to help their businesses thrive and grow. So here is an insight to some of the things we have done this week at Dakota Blue:
- Helped a frustrated senior manager who is being blocked from achieving their goals by a colleague
- Had a regular coaching session with an Operations Manager: this session was about the challenges of recruitment and organisation structure
- Mentored a manager in how to support an employee who is struggling with severe mental health problems
- Attended a redundancy consultation meeting (to take notes and support the manager with process)
- Delivered the second of seven management training modules on "Effective Communication" on a 1-2-1 basis for one of our retainer clients (That's the benefit of our retainer packages - management development training is included!)
- Mentored three HR Managers that we support from different businesses, with TUPE, long term ill health and a restructure project
- Organised meetings to support two Directors who have come to a crossroads in their business and need some mediation help to find the way forward
- Took an inquiry from a new client who had heard of us through recommendation and needs their contracts and employee handbook reviewed along with ongoing HR support
- Finalised the partnership agreement with our new HR System provider (Evalu-8) which is going to be beneficial for our SME customers
- Met with the employees of a retainer client to conduct a training needs analysis to help improve capability, productivity and efficiency ...... now to turn all that information into an action plan for the business owner.
And still Friday to go!!
Being able to deliver such a diverse range of support with the help of my team not only keeps my days interesting, it also reinforces how the work we do helps with really “Unlocking People Potential” (For Simon Sinek Fans .. this is my big “WHY”!) It's a reminder of why I love what I do — every challenge brings an opportunity to make a difference.
Here’s to continuing to support our clients in every step of their journey!
