Great meeting today with our Partners Agile Occupational Health. We love working with Joanna Watersmith and Ronald Cuthbert as with years of clinical and management experience, they know how to delicately balance the needs of both employees and employers to help find a way forward.
Today we talked about:
- Neurodiversity – with diagnoses of neurodiverse conditions on the rise, employers need to consider early interventions and reasonable adjustments, which not only avoids potential claims, it helps to get the best performance from the employee
- Health Surveillance – did you know that in companies where this is a requirement under Health & Safety legislation, records have to be kept for 40 years which poses a challenge for businesses without adequate recording systems
- Pre-employment screening – the pitfalls of asking for sensitive medical information at the wrong time, storing it in the wrong place and how this can get employers into trouble
