Why we are participating in RED January

January 3, 2019

With 15.4 million working days lost due to work related stress, depression or anxiety in 2017/18 and 0.6 million workers suffering from work related stress, depression or anxiety in 2017/18, (HSE HelpGBworkwell), what actions are you taking as a business to support your employees wellbeing?

The leading mental health charity ‘Mind’ has partnered up with charity ‘RED Together’ to create RED January which is a community initiative that encourages you to support your mental health by doing something active every single day.  Many taking part in RED January choose to fundraise for Mind, supporting the vital work that they do but it’s not compulsory. RED January can provide employees with a goal and focus to help them through a characteristically tough month.

It is not unusual to be cash poor in January; RED January is free and all-inclusive. RED January can empower, educate and support everyone to start the year as they mean to go on, forming healthy habits to continue throughout January and beyond. Registration is free and anyone can register until Midnight 3rd January 2019. There are free posters available to download that as employers you can use to encourage your employees to get active.
